COUNCIL APPOINTMENTS

The Council of the Township of Scugog invites additional applications from members of the public who are qualified electors (18 years of age, Canadian Citizen) in the Township of Scugog who wish to have their names considered for appointment to the following Committees for this Council term:


Fenceviewers 3 members

Fenceviewers are on call as required to arbitrate line fence disputes under the Line Fences Act.

Environmental Advisory Committee

The purpose of this Committee is to position the Township of Scugog as a leader in addressing sustainability initiatives as they relate to Energy Conservation, Water Conservation, Air Quality, Waste Diversion, Lake Scugog water quality and Green development policies and other sustainability initiatives.

As such the mandate will broaden Council’s and staff’s knowledge of various environmental issues, will review corporate measures to support the goals, will encourage Scugog residents, boards and agencies, businesses, institutions and senior levels of government to address these goals in their respective practices and operations.

Members will be selected on the basis of their demonstrated interest and participation in environmental, community matters and/or the academic qualifications they possess in disciplines that will assist in carrying out the Committee’s mandate, including, but not limited to:

Botany Hydrology/Hydrogeology Landscape Architecture
Ecology Geology Resource Management
Forestry Limnology Environmental Planning
Biology Engineering Agriculture

The Terms of Reference for this Committee is available in the Clerk’s Office, 181 Perry St., Port Perry.

Application forms are available on the Township of Scugog web site at www.scugog.ca or at the Municipal Office, 181 Perry St., Port Perry and will be accepted by the undersigned.
