DR. HERBERT A. BRUCE COMMUNITY PARK DEDICATION

AUGUST 19, 2010 at 11:00 a.m.

The public is invited to a special unveiling ceremony of a new Provincial Heritage Plaque at the former Perryview Park on Greenway Blvd. in Port Perry. This project is a partnership of the Lake Scugog Historical Society, the Ontario Heritage Trust and the Township of Scugog to commemorate former Ontario Lieutenant-Governor,Dr. Herbert A. Bruce who was born and raised in Scugog Township.
The official park re-naming is the second in a series of “Scugog Hero” unveilings that honour our heritage. The first unveiling took place in Blackstock in 2009 to commemorate WW II Flight Officer Roy Carter.
