The Township assists property owners in ensuring that buildings and structures meet the performance and safety standards set by the Ontario Building Code Act and its regulations, known as the Ontario Building Code. The Building Code is administered locally by the Chief Building Official of the Township, who ensures permit documents and construction meet the minimum standards in areas such as health and life safety, fire protection, structural safety, etc., as well as meeting the Township of Scugog's by-laws.
