SMOKE ALARMS

IT'S THE LAW

You must have a working smoke alarm on every storey of your home and outside all sleeping areas.

Choose the Right Alarm

If you are installing an electrically powered alarm, it is recommended that it have a battery back-up in case of power failures.

Ionization
Responds slightly faster to flaming-type fires.

Photo-electric
Detects slow, smouldering fires.
Photo-electric smoke alarms are recommended near kitchens to prevent nuisance alarms.
